EMERGENCY MEDICINE
Mission: Our mission is to improve the healthcare of the people and the community we serve by providing excellent emergency medical education.
FAMILY MEDICINE
Mission: To provide excellence in education for our Family Medicine residents while building a quality primary care workforce for rural Oklahoma.
WE ARE COMMITTED TO TRAINING RESIDENT PHYSICIANS
Comanche County Memorial Hospital made a commitment to train resident physicians in 2013. We took our first class of Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine Residents in July 2014 under the AOA. Shortly after receiving AOA accreditation, we learned that Medical Education was being combined under the ACGME. We immediately started our journey to secure accreditation by the ACGME. We are proud to say we received initial accreditation with osteopathic recognition for both programs, Family Medicine in 2017 and Emergency Medicine in 2018.
We pride ourselves on being progressive and have demonstrated in a short time that we are committed to training physicians to practice anywhere they like. However, we are also committed to keeping doctors here with us after graduation. Of the 41 graduated Emergency Medicine Residents, 24 are practicing in Oklahoma, and 8 of those are joining our Comanche County Memorial Hospital family. Of the 32 graduated Family Medicine Residents, 18 are practicing in Oklahoma, with 8 joining our Comanche County Memorial Hospital family.
Our commitment to train resident physicians at Comanche County Memorial Hospital continues as evidenced by our strong, effective, and innovative residency programs.
